<p>The invention provides a method of treatment of a Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) reaction mixture, said method including:- (a) modification of metal oxygenate components in the F-T reaction mixture in a hydrothermal reaction zone at hydrothermal reaction conditions; (b) exposing the F-T reaction mixture in the hydrothermal reaction zone to a filterable absorbent to facilitate adsorption of the modified metal oxygenate components onto the filterable absorbent.</p>
