<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-influenza agent for preventing influenza, which is not based on antigen-antibody reaction, is a naturally occurring substance and thus hardly shows any side effect. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for preventing influenza, a boiled extract of a stevia plant is concentrated and subsequently fermented to obtain a fermented liquid for drinking. The method is potentially effective for preventing influenza in humans but is especially intended for treating chickens, preferably by mixing the fermented liquid with a solid content of 15-20 W/V% into drinking water or feed at a chicken farm. By mixing the fermented liquid into the drinking water or feed for chicks in the first week of life, their internal organs develop healthily, and, even when the chicks are fed with normal drinking water and feed thereafter, their shipment date can be brought forward and their quality and quantity of meat are improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
