<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which reliability of combustible-gas sensor arranged on a combustion exhaust gas flow passage, and safety measure related to the above are improved. <P>SOLUTION: At the initial stage of operation or stopping the operation, wherein the combustible-gas sensor 20 arranged on a combustion exhaust gas flow passage becomes sensible, the gas remained in the flow passage is replaced and purged by making small quantity of hydrocarbon group fuel gas flow in an anode 15 or a cathode 16 of the fuel cell 17, and exhausting it therefrom, and the exhaust gas is burned. The hydrocarbon group fuel gas exhausted outward refreshes the combustible-gas sensor 20 by reacting therewith, and burning and removing various organic compounds included in the air, by the above, the combustible-gas sensor 20 can detect the combustible gas without fail. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
