PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus employing an amplification type MO sensor that can realize a mixing function of pixel signals without excessive time. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus is provided with a pixel section 1 with unit pixels arranged two-dimensionally, a vertical scanning circuit 2 for selecting a read row of the pixel section, a noise suppressing section 4 for suppressing a noise component contained in an output signal of the pixel section, a horizontal selecting switch section 5 and horizontal scanning circuit 6 for outputting a noise-suppressed signal, and a mode control section 8 for determining operating timings of the noise suppressing section and the horizontal scanning circuit. The noise suppressing section has a noise suppressing processing function of suppressing noise of a pixel signal and a signal mixing processing function of mixing a plurality of pixel signals in a predetermined direction, and the mode control section controls a first mode during which a pixel signal after noise suppressing processing is outputted, and a second mode during which a pixel signal after parallel processing of noise suppressing processing and signal mixing processing is outputted.
