PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device which improves radiation property of heat generated in an IDT (inter-digital transducer) electrode and improves power resistance. SOLUTION: In a surface acoustic wave device, a surface acoustic wave element in which the IDT electrode 2 and an electrode pad 3 are formed on one principal surface of a piezoelectric substrate 1 and a ground annular electrode 4 is formed to surround them, is mounted on the upper surface of a circuit board 11 while confronting its one principal surface thereto, and the ground annular electrode 4 is connected to a ground conductor 15 formed on the lower surface of the circuit board 11 by a through-conductor 14 formed inside the circuit board 11. Thus, heat generated in the IDT electrode 2 is easily released to the outside via the ground annular electrode 4, the through-conductor 14 and the ground conductor 15 and adverse influences caused by heat are suppressed, thereby improving power resistance of the surface acoustic wave device.
