PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting substance having resistance to repeated oxidation reactions, and to provide a light-emitting element having high light-emitting efficiency and further having a long lifetime as the element. SOLUTION: An anthracene derivative expressed by general formula (1) [R2to R4and R7to R9are each H, a 1-4C alkyl or a group expressed by structural formula (2); and R1, R5, R6and R10are each H or a 1-4C alkyl] is provided.
