<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to correct an image transferred and fixed to a paper in accordance with the property of the recording material on which an image is recorded. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 1, the image is formed on the recording material, and the image formed on the recording material is fixed. After fixing the image on the recording material, the speckle of the recording material is measured, and data showing the measured speckle are stored. And also, a speckle is measured before forming the image on the recording material, and in the case data showing speckle similar to the measured speckle are stored in the image forming apparatus 1, the recording material is recognized as a recording material which is unnecessary to correct in order to compensate the elongation of the recording material caused by a fixing processing, that is, the recording material is recognized as a back sheet.
