PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data-checking method which can identify data stored in a memory or the like irrespective of whether an address in which a checksum is stored is known even if the data-checking method checks stored data based on whether the total value of data stored in the memory and checksum is a prescribed value. SOLUTION: In step S4, the total value of data of an image processing program, checksum and identification information is computed to extract the identification information. Then, the version or the like of the image processing program is identified based on the extracted identification information (step S5 which corresponds to a data identification means).
