PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding device which has a pulley mounted on an output shaft in a dust-proof cover, and a flat belt wrap-connecting the pulley, wherein the grinding device is formed so as to prevent adhesion of dust to the component members. SOLUTION: The grinding device is of a hand-held type, and formed of a grinding device section 2 having a mounting means 9 for detachably mounting a disk blade 8 on the output shaft 7 of a driving source, and the dust-proof cover 10 covering the disk blade 8 and the mounting means 9; and a dust discharging device section for discharging dust in the dust-proof cover 10. The output shaft 7 has the pulley 17 mounted thereon, which is wrap-connected by the endless belt 22 for transferring power to the dust-discharging device section. The grinding device is comprised of an inner cover 28 which covers the endless belt 22 and the pulley 17, and has a through hole into which an adjuster ring 12 is inserted, and a seal member 30 which is formed of felt, for sealing a gap on the periphery of the adjuster ring 12 in the through hole.
