PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing density adjusting device for a magnet compound, capable of controlling the packing density of the magnet compound into a mold at a low cost. SOLUTION: The packing density adjusting device 10 for magnet compound has (A) the mold 2, equipped with a cavity of a rectangular shape in the longitudinal section, (B) a punch 7 comprising a number of punch blocks 6, which are divided in a major axis direction and are made adjustable in the pushing depth of the magnet compound 5 at respective positions, and (C) a positioning pin 4 for positioning the punch 7 and the mold 2. The pushing depth, by the respective punch blocks 6 constituting the punch 3, is previously set from the measured value of the magnetic flux density in the major axis direction of the long-sized magnet molding for test formed by compression molding the magnet compound 5 packed in the mold 2 in magnetic field, based on the empirical formula K=-3.15Ln(Y)+92.6 (where, Ln is a natural number; Y is the amount of decrease in magnetic flux density (mT), and K is the compressibility (%) of the magnet compound).
