PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance print quality of an ink jet printer in which nozzle array groups each consisting of a plurality of nozzle arrays are divided into a plurality of groups in the arranging direction and a drive circuit is provided for each group. SOLUTION: Variation in pulse width Wb of drive pulse signals being outputted from driver ICs 80 and 81 is eliminated by regulating the pulse width Wa of an ejection signal being outputted from an ejection signal generating circuit to the driver IC. Since variation in volume of ink liquid drops being ejected from the nozzle of each channel being driven by each driver IC can be eliminated, difference in print quality can be eliminated between respective channel areas and print quality can be enhanced.
