PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ease or eliminate limitations on a printing range generated for detection of the presence or absence of printing, and on printing content of background printing or the like. SOLUTION: An ink type printing method for printing to a medium with the use of ink has a first mode of printing by a pigment system ink, and a second mode of printing by a dye system ink. The content whose presence or absence of printing is desired to be detected is printed by the first mode, and the content whose presence or absence of printing is desired not to be detected is printed by the second mode. In the case of bankbook printing, the content which affects detection of the presence or absence of printing or reading of bar codes, for instance, a ground tint of the background, ruled lines, item names and the like are printed by the dye ink, while transaction content and the bar codes are printed by the pigment ink.
