PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing/removing a chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound safely and efficiently using a microbe decomposing the chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound in soil, drainage, residual ash, fly ash or the like contaminated by spreading the chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound at a low concentration and over a wide range. SOLUTION: When the chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound is decomposed/removed by making a culture of the microbe decomposing the chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound act on the soil, the drainage, the residual ash, the fly ash or the like contaminated by spreading the chlorine-containing aromatic organic compound at the low concentration and over the wide range with, fats and fatty oils, for example, edible waste oils are made present in an active environment of the microbe. Further, the microbe is made to act without sterilizing the soil, the drainage, the residual ash, the fly ash or the like contaminated with dioxins beforehand.
