PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of preventing a sheet from riding over side regulation members and a sheet from being fed in a curled state even when the sheet is curled, and applicable to substantially all types of image forming devices, and an image forming device having the paper feeder. SOLUTION: The paper feeder comprises a loading plate 12 to load stacked sheets P, side regulation members 13, 13, to regulate the position on the right and left sides in the paper feed direction of the stacked sheets, a guide means 13a consisting of a groove formed in the vertical direction of the side regulation members, and a pressing member 20 which is engaged with the guide means in an elevating/lowering manner to press at least a peripheral edge part of an upper side of the stacked sheets P. Since the pressing member 20 is larger than a conventional one, and provided in an elevating/lowering manner according to the fluctuation of the upper side position of the sheet P, the sheet is pressed even when the sheet P is curled, preventing the sheet from riding over the side regulation member 13 and from being fed in a curled state.
