PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control device having excellent mountability onto a vehicle without causing enlargement. SOLUTION: This brake control device has a front wheel side brake system, a rear wheel side brake system, and a shutoff valve for opening/closing the front wheel side brake system and the rear wheel side brake system in a connectable/disconnectable manner. In normal brake control, the shutoff valve is put in the closed state to make each system independent, and one system is constituted as a manual brake circuit of pressurizing a wheel cylinder by a master cylinder, while the other system is constituted as a bi-wire brake circuit of pressurizing the wheel cylinder by the supply of pressure from a hydraulic source provided separately from the master cylinder according to a driver's braking will. At least in ABS control, the shutoff valve is put in the open state to communicate each brake circuit, and pressure from the master cylinder is applied to the wheel cylinder of each system.
