PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the drop of a fuel injection quantity by effectively restraining deposit from sticking to a passage downstream of a seat part in a fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve is provided with a needle valve 20 having a seat abutting part 24 at the tip, and a nozzle body 22 having a seat part 26 on which the seat abutting part 24 abuts. The nozzle body 22 comprises a tapered face 34 including the seat part 26, and a fuel receiving part 28 formed of a spherical sack wall surface 36. The tip part of the needle valve 20 is provided with a first projecting part 38 formed in tapered shape with a larger taper angle than the tapered face 34, and a second projecting part 40 formed in tapered shape with a smaller taper angle than the first projecting part 38.
