PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a component for precision instrument composed of a titanium-aluminum intermetallic compound having rigidity at a low cost with improved productivity, and to provide the component for precision instrument. SOLUTION: A powdery mixture is prepared into any one ratio among that of, by mass, 30 to 45% Al, and the balance Ti, that of 30 to 45% Al and 0.5 to 5% Cr, and the balance Ti, and that of 30 to 45% Al and 0.5 to 8% Nb, and the balance Ti. The powdery mixture is subjected to cold compacting into a green compact having a relative density of≥70%. The green compact is packed into a capsule made of steel, is evacuated in a vacuum, and is thereafter subjected to HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) treatment at 660 to 1,000°C under 50 to 200 MPa into a compact having a relative density of 100%. The compact after the removal of the capsule made of steel is subjected to alloying treatment so as to be heated at 1,100 to 1,350°C in an inert atmosphere to form into a composite structure of a titanium-aluminum intermetallic compound, and is subjected to finish working into a compact after the alloying treatment.
