<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for detecting, a fixing unit and a power source unit or both, using a low-cost simple circuit. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus comprises the fixing units 2, having a plurality of kinds that are detachable and classified by places of destination, the power source unit 3, and a control unit 1 performing power source switching control of the fixing unit 2 discrimination detection and presence/non-presence detection of the fixing unit 2 is conducted, by reading the voltage division of a discrimination resistor 23 which the fixing unit 2 has, and a pull-up resistor 11 which the control unit 1 has. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
