PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric component capable of improving the yield of a material for forming a slider, and hardly deformed in handling it during assembly or the like. SOLUTION: This rotary electric component is provided with: a code plate 2 where first and second code patterns 4A and 4B made by alternately forming conductive parts and non-conductive parts electrically connected to each other are arranged by being shifted in the circumferential direction on the same circumference; and a rotating body 6 rotatably arranged on the code plate 2 by being faced to it, and provided with a plurality of sliders 7 sliding on the first and second code patterns 4A and 4B. The rotary electric component is so structured that, on the code plate 2, a common pattern 3 is formed on a concentric circle different from the circumference with the first and second code patterns 4A and 4B formed thereon; the plurality of sliders 7 are respectively brought into sliding contact with the first and second code patterns 4A and 4B and the common pattern 3 so as to straddle them; and the plurality of sliders 7 are attached to the rotating body 6 in a state electrically insulated from one another.
