OPTICAL MODULE, AND CERAMIC SUBSTRATE FOR OPTICAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which can be lowered in height and smaller in size and can be optically coupled to an optical fiber with high efficiently. SOLUTION: The optical module 41 has a module main part 42 and an optical element 81. The optical module 41 can be coupled by a push-on fastening system to an MT ferrule 24 for an optical fiber connector. A ferrule support 27 for the optical fiber connector and a guide pin 31 for the optical fiber connector are used for coupling by the above system. The optical element 81 is disposed in the module main part 42 and is optically aligned when the MT ferrule 24 and the module main part 42 are coupled by the insertion of the guide pin 31.
