PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reduce the occupying space of a reagent handling device for use in handling a desired reagent which is selected from many kinds of reagents housed in a container in a study of chemistry and ready to be used. SOLUTION: The reagent handling device A is equipped with at least a pair of housing racks 8 and 9 wherein a plurality of demarcated chambers 12 extended in a vertical direction and permitting the fitting of individual reagent containers 1 through their upper end openings are formed, the push-up body 19 inserted in the desired demarcated chamber 12 in one housing rack 8 of those housing racks 8 and 9 from below to push up the container 1 in the demarcated chamber 12 and a grasping feed member 20 for gasping the container 1 pushed up by the push-up body 19 to transfer it to the area above the other housing rack 9 and fitting the same in the desired demarcated chamber 12 of the other housing rack 9.
