PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach and detach a pipe for detection with respect to a casing, and to easily and positively clean the pipe for detection. SOLUTION: In the X-ray foreign matter detector 1, an X-ray is irradiated on a subject conveyed in a pipeline 6 at a detection position P, an X-ray transmitted through the subject is detected, and existence or nonexistence of foreign matter in the subject is detected on the basis of its transmission amount. In a casing 2, the pipeline 6 is passed through both side faces, and an opening 4 provided with a door 5 is provided on a front face. It is provided with the pipe 6c for detection comprising one part of the pipeline 6, detachably attached to the pipeline 6, and arranged in the opening 4, a holding member 21 holding the pipe 6c for detection, and a moving mechanism 20 moving the pipe 6c for detection and the holding member 21. The moving mechanism 20 is provided with a support member 50 detachably supporting the holding member 21, and a guide member 55 moving the support member 50 in a direction Z orthogonal to a conveyance direction.
