PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car instrument capable of improving the recognizability of displaying information by extending/shrinking the length of the pointer. SOLUTION: The car instrument 1 comprises: the dial plate 2 provided with displayed scales; and the pointer 3 for rotating around the pointer axis for pointing the scales of the dial plate 2. The dial plate 2 is made of a transparent plate capable of seeing through the rear side, and the pointer 3 is arranged behind the dial plate 2. Between the pointer 3 and the dial plate 2 a shield plate 4 for covering and masking the pointer 3 is provided.
