PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing apparatus by which a compact excellent in soft feeling (easiness in the disentanglement of the compact), impact resistance and uniformity of thickness is manufactured. SOLUTION: This method is a manufacturing method for the compact by which the compact is manufactured by compressing a powder raw material 5 between pressurizing members 12, 13. The distance between the pressurizing members 12, 13 is enlarged by a specified quantity after compressing the powder raw material 5 into a prescribed state by shortening the distance between the pressurizing members 12, 13.
