PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood preservative which uses a highly safe active ingredient, is strongly effective for controlling wood-destroying fungi such as Tyromyces palustris and Coriolus versicolor, is excellent in handleability and workability and offers a high residual rate of the active ingredient. SOLUTION: The wood preservative contains at least one chosen from highly safe squalene and squalane found in a human body or listed in standards for cosmetic ingredients as an effective ingredient.
