Process for reducing the permeability of plastics materials

The permeability of a plastics material is reduced by surface-fluorinating at least a portion of the surface of a plastics material to produce a surface-fluorinated plastics material and then exposing said surface-fluorinated plastics material or a surface-fluorinated plastics material derived therefrom to a fluid comprising at least one stabilizer. Permeability of the plastics material to organic solvent is thereby reduced.
