PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation of a consumption power for a fuel pump and to provide an increased life for a fuel pump. SOLUTION: The fuel pump 3 of a fuel feed device is driven by a constant current type control circuit 23. A pressure control valve 13 arranged between the fuel pump 3 side and the fuel rail 15 side comprises a downstream pressure control valve 35; and a bypass valve 37 bypassing the downstream pressure control valve 35. The downstream pressure control valve 35 sets a fuel pressure in the fuel rail 15 to a given value by controlling opening and closing of a passage running from a fuel piping 11 to a fuel rail 15. The bypass valve 37 is a relief valve to be opened when the fuel pressure of the upper stream fuel piping 11 side is increased to a value higher than a pressure on the downstream fuel relay 15 side by a given differential pressure P when the delivery pressure of the fuel pump 3 is increased. Through opening of the valve, fuel is fed from an upper stream spot to a downstream spot to increase a fuel pressure in the fuel rail 15. |
