The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a microwaveable raw food product, comprising the steps of: (a) mixing a suspending agent with a heated aqueous media to form a viscous solution or suspension; and (b) mixing at least one raw ingredient into the 10 viscous solution or suspension to form the microwaveable raw food product. The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing a cooked product; the method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a raw microwaveable product produced by the methods of the invention; and (b) heating the product in a microwave oven for a period of time sufficient to cook substantially all of the raw product. |
