A medical instrument comprising at least two instrument parts 2, 26 is provided with a coupling which releasably connects the two instrument parts, the coupling comprising a latch 12 on one instrument part which may be moved between a released position (Fig. 6) and a locked position (Fig. 7), a shoulder 32 on the other engagement part which abuts the latch, and at least one magnet 20, 22 which retains the latch in its locked position. The latch is unlocked by separating the magnets using a connection limb 8. |
