<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picking list preparation system capable of increasing not only the efficiency of the retrieval operations of publications in a distribution warehouse but also the efficiency of the entire part of a distribution system, a picking list preparation method, and a picking list preparation program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for specifying type data from the document information of ordered publications in order detail data in a CPU, calculating the converted number of documents by multiplying coefficient data specified based on the type data by the ordered quantity of the ordered publications, and obtaining the total sum of the converted quantity of documents in the order detail data, a step for comparing the total sum of the converted quantity of documents to a specified threshold, and a step for displaying packaging instruction solely by the order detail data to be determined when the total sum of the converted quantity of documents is larger than the threshold.
