<p>A method for monitoring the function of a slave in a network according to the PROFIBUS DP- or PROFInet I/O specification, in which the slave receives in a cyclic data traffic with a master of this input data and a driver contained in the slave prepares the received input data for receipt for the slave application, and in which the driver only receives the input data from the slave application as prepared output data and the master reads and verifies this output data in an acyclic data traffic for whether the slave application is active or not and collects the input data if the slave application is not responsive enough, in order to read the input data or if the slave applicator is not in a position to read all the data packets in the input data.</p> |
