The invention relates to a water discharge device which is positioned at the centre of a toilet cistern. Toilet cistern construction involves the use of mechanical seals which can comprise different shapes and materials, which are equipped with an operating and control actuator and which enable the water contained in the toilet tank to be discharged. More specifically, mechanical seals for toilet cisterns, which are equipped with an operating actuator, serve as discharge valves which enable or prevent the passage of liquid. Generally, said mechanical seals comprise a fixed base and a mobile part which, when joined together, block the passage of liquids, all of said elements being produced and used for said specific purpose. The inventive device interrupts the flow of water being discharged from the tank to the bowl, using a cylindrical barrier which is taller than the required maximum water level in the cistern. According to the invention, when the aforementioned cylinder contracts be low the water level, under the effect of an actuator, part of the water can be discharged from the cistern to the bowl and the interior of the device fills with water. A siphon effect (absorption by gravity) is generated owing to the fact that the outlet of the discharge cylinder is lower than the base of the toilet tank or cistern, and the weight of the water in the device ensures that the retractable cylinder remains contracted. In this way, the device can absorb water from the base of the cistern. Upon termination of the water discharge operation, the device fills with air and is freed from the weight of the water contained therein. As a result, the retractable cylinder can return to the initial position thereof, thereby enabling the toilet tank or cistern to be filled with water up to the required level. In addition, the floatation capacity of two small cylinders, which are disposed at the upper sides of the cylinder (1), enables same to be positioned slightly above the water leve l required in the toilet cistern. The water inlet of the conical part of the cylinder (2) maintains the device such that it is ready to repeat the above-mentioned operation. As such, the device does not require a mechanical seal for operation.
