Clothes are washed without boiling by introducing them into a bath at about 80 DEG C. containing per 100 litres of water an addition of a clear solution in 1--2 litres of water of 60 grams of sodium peroxide and a further addition of 250 grams of liquid water-glass at 34--38 DEG B</>ae., maintaining them in the bath for about 12 hours, wringing them out and rinsing in cold water.ALSO:A composition to be added to 100 litres of water at about 80 DEG C. used for washing clothes without boiling consists of a clear solution of 60 gm. of sodium peroxide in 1--2 litres of water and 250 gm. of liquid water-glass of 34--38 DEG B</>ae. The prior use of a washing powder composed of sodium carbonate, bicarbonate, and peroxide, with addition of soap to the bath is referred to. |
