The method involves electro-galvanizing a key plate (10) according to an anti-corrosion processing. The galvanized key plate is mounted at an end of a clevis pin (11) and is integrated with the clevis pin by a laser welding operation. An apparent side of the key plate is then painted to be in arrangement with machine units. The assembly of the key plate and the clevis pin is then mounted on the machine units. An independent claim is also included for a key plate integrated with a clevis pin.
