An excitation winding (4.2) has end terminals (5.1, 5.2) controlling a negative supply voltage terminal (10) by utilizing connection lines (7.3, 7.4) and switching lines (8.3, 8.4). An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a stepper motor.
