The device has a continuous sensor e.g. an optical mouse type sensor, a discreet sensor such as a touch screen, where the usage of the continuous and discreet sensors is implemented in an exclusive manner. Switching units have a selection button (11) adapted to switch between `remote control` operation mode realized by the touch screen and a mouse usage mode realized by the optical mouse type sensor. An independent claim is also included for a process of switching between two modes of usage of control equipment.
