PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of sufficiently absorbing vibration of cam chain. SOLUTION: This engine is provided with a crank case 21 having a cylinder main body formed as one unit and a crank shaft 22 stored therein, a cylinder head 24 mounted on an upper part of the crank case 21, a chain chamber 24a formed in the cylinder head 24, an intake camshaft 27 and an exhaust camshaft 28 arranged on the cylinder head 24, cam chain 30 arranged in a chain chamber 24a and transmitting drive force of a crank shaft 2 to the intake cam shaft 27, a chain guide member 35 guiding the cam chain 30, and a cam chain tensioner 36 applying tension on the cam chain 30 via the chain guide member 35.
