PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-dressing agent cleanser which exhibits a high hair-dressing agent-cleansing effect and gives smoothness to hair, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: This hair-dressing agent cleanser comprises (a) a water-soluble oil having an IOB of 0.6 to 1.5, (b) a cationic polymer, and (c) a metal ion-sealing agent. The water-soluble oil is preferably one or more compounds selected from random type alkylene oxide derivatives and diethoxyethyl succinate. The cationic polymer is preferably one or more compounds selected from hydroxypropyltrimonium starch chloride, cationized hydroxylethylcellulose-2, polyquaternium-39, and polyquaternium-7. The metal ion-sealing agent is preferably one or more compounds selected from hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid compounds, edetates, and N-acylethylenediamine triacetate.
