COMMUNICATION METHOD, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method capable of reflecting a share of a FEC overhead attached to transmission data on a permissible band in the case of applying the FEC (Forward Error Correction) technology to, e.g. a PON (Passive Optical Network) system.

SOLUTION: The communication method includes a band assignment step for assigning the permissible band to a plurality of communication apparatuses on the basis of a data band corresponding to data transmitted from the plurality of communication apparatuses sharing transmission bands and an additional band corresponding to the overhead attached to the transmission data.
