PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical lens which has a desired transmission refractive power at an apex, even when the optical lens is distorted during molding it using a molding tool. SOLUTION: In this method for designing the molding tool which molds the optical lens 20, an error of the transmission refractive power due to molding at the apex O of the optical lens to be molded, is forecast based on a shape factor which prescribes the shapes of both design curved surfaces of a first surface 21 and a second surface 22 of the optical lens.
