<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a PET bottle which can be substantially reduced in its longitudinal width (height) compared with the time when a PET bottle body is filled with contents. <P>SOLUTION: The PET bottle body has a part or the whole of its height direction formed as horizontal bellows except a spout at the upper end, a width in the height direction of the spout and a width of the height direction of a bottom. When the molded PET bottle body is longitudinally compressed and the bellows-like portion of the bottle body is pressurized in the center direction of the bottle body from one or both sides of the longitudinal direction, the bellows-like portion can keep overlapped and collapsed.
