PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external wall structure of a building and a double window unit capable of decreasing the occurrence of short circuit of air in a void of the double window structure, ensuring a venting hole area and increasing ventilation efficiency by thinning the double window structure. SOLUTION: The double window unit introduces the air not from the lower part and the upper part of a double skin to but from the side of the double skin as before. Therefore, a vent hole is provided to not a transom section of a sash but to a mullion section. Because the mullion section is vertically longer, the air vent is wide in the vertical direction, in comparison with the conventional venting hole, and it is possible to enlarge the area. In each layer double skin type, the upper end of an exhausting venting hole and the lower end of the air introducing venting hole approach to each other in layer distance, and an average separate distance of both upper and lower ends becomes larger than the conventional case.
