PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for an optical receptacle which is orovided with a light shielding door capable of being easily incorporated thereinto and surely shielding light with a simple configuration and has an excellent durability. SOLUTION: The connector 1 has an aperture 11 and an aperture 12 at both of the longitudinal ends, respectively, and is provided with a housing 2 of an about rectangular cylinder shape made of a synthetic resin molding of which the upper and lower sides of the shape are distinguished from each other by a projection 20, a sleeve 4 which latches plugs to be inserted from the apertures 11, 12 so that they are freely attachable and detachable and which is built in the housing 2 to optically couple optical fibers to each other held by the plugs, and the light shielding doors 3 consisting of flat spring pieces 30 which alter in shape accompanying attaching/detaching of a plug to freely open/close the aperture 11.
