PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant for a liquid crystal display element, which is, in particular, most suitable for manufacture of the liquid crystal display element with a dropping method, since its component will not dissolve into the liquid crystal or will not pollute the liquid crystalit and it produces little color uneveness in the liquid crystal display, a vertically conducting material, and the liquid crystal display element, in the manufacture of the liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The sealant for the liquid crystal display element includes an organometallic compound having Lewis acidity, a thermosetting compound containing a (meth-)acrylate compound and a polyaddition-type thermosetting agent.
