PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cutting resistance without reducing a feed speed and a slitting quantity which are cutting conditions. SOLUTION: This end mill 11 which is a cutting tool is composed of a cutting edge part 12 and a shank part 13. The cutting edge part 12 is provided with four helical flutes 14 formed at equal spaces in a circumferential direction, and four helical teeth 15 formed by the helical flutes 14. The outer surface of the helical tooth 15 is formed with a spiral B at every helical tooth of 360°÷the number of teeth×2 to a spiral A, parallel with the spiral A of nicks 16A so that nicks 16B arranged along the spiral B are located between the respective nicks 16A arranged along the spiral A, wherein helical teeth 15C, 15D are formed to locate the nicks 16B (on the end face side) in front of the nicks 16A.
