A positioner where installation and removal of a rotary joint is easy and which is excellent in maintenaceability. Further, in both of the case where the rotary joint is removed and the case where it is installed, the positioner can provide a communication device to an apparatus on a rotating table. The positioner rotates a rotating table (12) and a hollow shaft (2) by a motor (8) through a speed reducer. For this purpose, an air tube or a cable (1) for supplying air or electric power used for the drive etc. of a jig on the rotating table (12) is brought through a rotary joint (3) provided at one end of the shaft (2). Further, a communication device can be provided on the rotating table (12) by removing the rotary joint (3) and installing a combined curl cord. Alternatively, the communication device can be provided using the rotary joint (3) and a radio communication device without using the combined curl cord.
