MULTICAST PACKET TRANSFER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transfer device having a means for responding only to a host unregistered in the multicast group when there is a request of participation or secession to/from a certain multicast group from the host unregistered in the multicast group.

SOLUTION: The packet transfer device 11 has a means for judging whether or not the host 10-3 at a transmitting origin of the packet is registered in the group when a packet including identifiers of the group (224. 10. 10. 10) which requests participation or secession from the host 10-3, a means for converting a group identifier (first group identifier) into a second group identifier imparted to a distribution server 12-2 which distributes information to the unregistered host 10-3 and transmitting the packet to the distribution server 12-2 when the host is unregistered and a means for converting the second group identifier included in the packet into the first group identifier and transmitting the packet to the unregistered host 10-3 when the packet including the information is received from the distribution server 12-2.
