PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and easily applicable metal rust prevention and resin degradation prevention material that has an excellent corrosion prevention effect and an excellent degradation prevention effect even if it contacts planting base soil and/or surface soil protection soil and to provide its processing method. SOLUTION: This metal corrosion prevention and resin degradation prevention material contains at least one bark or shortly-fiberized material selected from reed material, cedar bark, cypress bark, yellow cedar bark, eucalyptus bark and coconut husk material. Addition of it to a roof material, wall material, metallic and resin nets used on slopes, or the like contacting plant base soil can prevent rust of metal members such as fences, poles and the like and strength and performance degradations of resin products.
