PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine capable of performing the control to prevent loss of synchronism of a pulse motor by detecting the quantity of movement of an object of driving even when driving of the pulse motor is stopped, and a control method of the same. SOLUTION: The sewing machine has encoders attached to an X-direction driving motor and a Y-direction driving motor for driving a carriage and a frame holder of the multi-needle sewing machine, and a control device for driving the driving motors. When the control device (CPU) confirms that the driving motors are in the stopped state (S1:Yes) and if it determines that the difference of a target position based on the driving pulses outputted to the driving motors and the actual position based on the quantity of rotation detected by the encoders is a threshold of the loss of synchronism or above (S3: No), the control device changes the excitation phase to bring the target position close to the present position (S6) so that the difference is the threshold of the loss of synchronism or lower, and after that, it outputs pulses so that the present position is close to a stopping position. With such structure, the loss of synchronism can be prevented even if the loss of synchronism may occur because of some load applied to the driving motors. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
