<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, apparatus, and program for generating a gradation correction curve generating a gradation correction curve with excellent correction accuracy even in the case of application of the method, program and apparatus to an image output apparatus whose gradation characteristic is not clear. <P>SOLUTION: The method for generating the gradation correction curve includes: a measurement value acquisition step of acquiring a measured value of a physical quantity with respect to colors as to a plurality of color patches outputted from the image output apparatus on the basis of a series of input values different from each other; a gradation curve extraction step for extracting a plurality of gradation curves representing gradations of colors outputted from the image output apparatus by each of a plurality of kinds of extraction methods; a gradation correction curve generating step of generating a plurality of the gradation correction curves for correcting the gradations represented respectively by a plurality of the extracted gradation curves to a prescribed target gradation; and a gradation correction curve selection step of selecting one gradation correction curve among a plurality of the gradation correction curves generated by the gradation correction curve generating step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
